Qtel MobileCam


Baru - baru ini tempat kerja saya ( Qtel ) meluncurkan produk baru yang namanya MobileCam. Idenya amat sangat cemerlang dan saya yakin jika diterapkan di Indonesia ( yang lagi musim penculikan anak < Naudzubillahi Min Dzalik.. jangan sampai terjadi lagi >) akan sangat laris manis tanjung kimpul.

Namanya MobileCam, intinya adalah perangkat kecil (webcam yg sudah dimodifikasi dan mempunyai fungsi menerima panggilan dalam network 3G) yang diisi SIMCARD 3G Qtel ( bisa diganti sih.. soalnya pas mau diunlock sama Qtel saja, ICT Qatarnya menolak ).
Nah, mobilecam ini setelah dimasukin simcard 3G, dan disetting.. tinggal dipasang aja di sudut dinding. Nanti pas kita di kantor atau diluar, call saja nomor mobilecam tsb dengan handset 3G anda. Nanti mobilecam akan menerima panggilan tersebut ( ada whitelist dan password sehingga tidak semua orang bisa masuk ) dan pada salah satu menunya adalah bisa melihat secara realtime kondisi terakhir kamar flat kita. Jadi mirip sekali dengan remote CCTV :)

The 3G MobileCam is a wireless camera that can be placed in customer’s home or office and accessed via 3G video calls initiated by a 3G mobile phone from anywhere and at anytime. The easy to use 3G MobileCam will enable customers to enjoy live audio, video and a talkback facility whilst maintaining complete privacy by entering a security PIN code exclusive to each user.

Qtel’s 3G MobileCam is an ideal solution for busy parents to remotely monitor their property, children or nannies and activities taking place in their homes when they’re away. MobileCam can also be used by business owners to track activities in their office.

3G MobileCam works with all postpaid and Hala prepaid SIMs. However, it’s recommended to use it the new postpaid camera SIM card (SIMCam). SIMCam is a special SIM that only accepts 3G Video, Voice calls and send & receive SMSs which makes it ideal to be used with the 3G MobileCam.

SIMCam has QR 100 one off connection fees and QR 30 monthly rental charges. Customers can also enjoy 50% discount on the monthly rental when they subscribe to the yearly plan option.

The 3G MobileCam has a lot of features which enable customers to zoom in and out, pan in four directions, start recording and a night vision feature that enables it to operate perfectly in the dark

1. What is the 3G MobileCam?
It is a small wireless camera that can be accessed by 3G Video Calls from any 3G mobile phone. The easy to use 3G MobileCam will enable customers to enjoy live audio، video and a talkback facility whilst maintaining complete privacy by entering a security PIN code exclusive to each user. The customer can remotely control many features such as the camera angle، zoom، or instruct the camera to start recording.

2. What type of SIM can I insert in the camera?
3G MobileCam works with all Qtel postpaid or Hala prepaid SIM cards. However، it is recommended to use the camera with Receive-only SIM card (SIMCam). SIMCam is a special postpaid SIM card offered by Qtel that receives voice and 3G Video Calls only. It is also capable of sending and receiving SMS. SIMCam does not make any outgoing calls which make it the most suitable SIM card to be used with the 3G MobileCam.

3. How much is the SIMCAM?
SIMCam has a one-off connection fee of QR 100 and QR 30 monthly rental fee which makes it most convenient to be used with the camera. Customers can get 50% discount on the monthly rental fee when choosing the yearly subscription option. All SMS sent from the camera will be charged as per the standard SMS charges for postpaid.

4. Do I need a special handset to call up my 3G MobileCam?
Yes. You need to use a 3G handset that supports the 3G Video Calling service. 3G Video Calling is available by default to all Qtel postpaid and Hala prepaid customers.

5. How much will I be charged when making 3G Video Calls to the MobileCam?
3G Video Calls made to the 3G MobileCam are charged as per the 3G Video Calling rate. The 3G Video Call per minute is always 10 Dhr more than the voice per minute rate for postpaid and prepaid customers. The postpaid Video Call per minute rate is 45 DHR during peak hours، and 40 DHR during off peak hours. The prepaid Video Call per minute rate is always 65 DHR.

6. Where can I buy the 3G Mobile Cam?
The 3G MobileCam is available at all Qtel، Starlink and main mobile shops.

7. How much is the 3G MobileCam?
You can buy 3G MobileCam for QR 899 or buy the 3G MobileCam with the SIMCam for QR 999.

8. Can other customers access my 3G MobileCam?
Yes، if you gave them permission. Your privacy is completely guaranteed. As the owner/administrator of the camera، you are requested to create 4 digits security PIN. All customers calling the camera will be requested to enter this 4 digits security PIN. As the owner or the administrator of the camera، you can also control the white list. The white list contains phone numbers of customers that can access the camera without having to enter the security PIN.

9. Can I block anyone from using my 3G MobileCam?
Yes. You should access the menu interface of the camera and choose the Delete User option. The user will be deleted from the white list. This user will be asked to enter the security PIN the next time he is calling the camera. This feature can be also activated using SMS.

10. Can I use SIM cards from other operators on my 3G MobileCam?
Yes.

11. Can I remotely instruct the 3G MobileCam to start recording?
Yes. During the 3G Video Call to the camera، access the user menu and choose the Record option.

12. Where will the recording be saved? How can I play it?
The recording will be saved on a T-flash memory card placed inside the 3G MobileCam. You can play it using the card reader in the PC.

13. Can I change the Camera administrator?
Yes. Using the main menu that appears when you make a 3G Video Call to the camera. By default، the first mobile number calling the camera is set as the administrator of the camera.

14. Can I call the 3G MobileCam from outside Qatar?
Yes. If the foreign network operator supports 3G Video Calling. It also has to have a roaming agreement with Qtel.

15. In case of any problem with the 3G MobileCam، what is the customer support number?
