The Passports and Expatriates Division of the Ministry of Interior has announced that expatriates who wish to apply for family visa should henceforth have a minimum salary of QR10,000 per month, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday. Applications for family visas will from now on be scrutinised by a committee constituted in the ministry on the directive of the Cabinet. Earlier it was handled by the standing committee for recruitments in the Ministry of Labour. The minimum salary requirement was earlier QR7,000. It was later increased to QR8,000 and now it has been further increased to QR10,000. The committee will apply rigid procedures to check the veracity of each application, the daily has added. "

The Position

To manage and direct end to end IT Service and Support function in a
cost effective and efficient manner for Emirates Group - Outstation
offices. To manage customer expectations and target an uptime of 99%
for all IT systems thus making the business community more productive
and efficient; and to produce data evidence/reports to this effect.

Review customer requirements and expectations; and manage provision of
service and support as per the agreed SLA and within Emirates Group IT
policy frame work.
Review and maintain service and support standards on an ongoing basis,
and establish clear quality criteria for all stakeholders.
Manage timely completion of installation, maintenance, and upgrade of
highly complex systems and ensure that the quality checks are
performed and maintained as required.
Manage the installation and implementation of automation utilities
across customer groups to reduce cost of operation in terms of
manpower and hardware resources.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a field support engineer in a system integration or service provider environment
- Strong knowledge of L2 switching

The Role
- Role holder will ensure the timely and consistent delivery of the key internet services; messaging, web, portal, IP-Multimedia services, authentication, and DNS
- Design and maintain system database, operational support systems and web applications.
- Diverse ISP services will be managed operated properly to insure customer satisfaction and introduce new breed of service offerings.
- Manage the delivery of all Services and applications in a timely and consistent manner.
- Manage and maintain the user database for all services.
- Co-coordinating with vendors on design, delivery and support.
- Introduce new service offerings to Qtel customers
Requirements
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in ISP/ telecom IT or similar technology.
- Radius authentication PAP, CHAP, 802.1x, accounting compliance for CDR's with RFC2866 roaming authentication.
- Working knowledge of Sun One messaging, Web services, portal, Bind DNS, mediation systems and Customer Care Applications.
- Oracle and other Database design and operations.
- Through knowledge and technical understanding of Internet infrastructure, Network Access Severs, Unix OS's and Radius Clients.
- Through knowledge of TCP/IP, operating systems and operational support systems.
- Certifications in systems and or networks
